Samsung SGH-U600 tips:
I’m going to show you some tips for Samsung SGH-U600 which I gathered from the internet.Here is a list of tricks (you probably don’t know this trick’s but they are cool):
Flashlight: When you slide up your phone try pushing the up/down volume button at the side for about 1-2 seconds, this will activate the led light normally used for the camera. Now you can find your key’s 
When the mp3 player is minimized, you can control it by using your navigation buttons in the main screen:
Long hold the right navigation button will bring up the next track in your playlist.
Long hold the down navigation button will stop the mp3 player.
Long hold the left navigation button will bring up the previous track in your playlist.
Long hold the center navigation button (the I (internet)) button will pause the track.
Samsung SGH U600 tips: Special codes
- *#0228# This code will allow you to check the battery status of your Mobile by pushing down 2 times!
- *#1234# This code will allow you to check your firmware version!
- *#4777*8665# This code brings you in a special menu where you can detach your gprs to improve your battery life!
- *#0842# This code will test the vibration function of your mobile
- *#9998*4678255# This code will allow you to install java games on your U600 mobile
Samsung SGH U600 tips: Some Known firmware bugs
- Mp3 player doesn’t play the last 3 seconds of an mp3 file
- The alarm doesn’t work in silent mode
- While typing a message when mp3 player is on, the Add word function doesn’t work properly.
- When receiving a file via Bluetooth, there is no option to store it to the memory card so the size is limited to the phone memory
- When there are movies in the my video’s section of the phone memory and you try to play a movie full screen from your memory card, the phone just switches to camera mode. That’s very strange!

I installed some games in the cell, but when i try to open the JAVA world folder, the phone begin to vibrate and the functions are locked, the solution is retire the battery. What i can do?

I think the JAVA apps you used are the problem, they might have errors or maybe they are not compatible with Samsung U600 phone.

You should try to uninstall the games by using the usb cable and the software, or just delete the files from the phone, you can google “delete files from U600 software” i am sure you will find your answer there.

Hi, excuse me for the insistence, when i used the usb cable and the software, the program not allowed the management of the java world folder. yes i know you cant edit that folder trough samsung’s application you need to find another app, i cannot recommend you any name because i never did that on my u600, but there is a bunch of forums out there about phone hacking and you can post a question there, here is one example of forum

Hi, the problem was solved with the code *2767*JAVA# Java Reset and (Deletes all Java Midlets)would be keyed in as *2767*5282#.

Thank you for all these tips! I need still some help if at all possible: where could I find a USB driver for Linux for the U600? Samsung downloads are all Windows, and if I just plug the phone in the USB ports of my Linux (Ubuntu) PC nothing happens, dead.

i think the cable is ok, Ubuntu its not like windows and im guessing something doesent pop`up like in windows when you insert a new device, so maybe your problem is the linux usb driver for samsung, i think thats what you need.

i never used mine to browser the internet, so i cant really say what is the problem in your case, in the case of downloading something you will probably need to flash/modify something into the phones software, but you should be aware that this will lead to a warranty void.

it’s simple go to sound settings , ex incoming call > at ringtone select music and just browse to your favorite mp3. than save the setting and you’re set.

Hi.. thank you for all these tips. it’s really helpful! but there’s one thing i wan to ask. i installed ebuddy into my u600. using the code etc (jad and jar file?) it’s already installed into java world - application in my u600, but when i want to get started with it, suddenly it stops. it says click ok to get start, but when i did it, it won’t work. just hang in there.
does anyone know what should i do? i want to install application tht enables me to chat via YM or else through my phone.

I don’t know if U600 is able to run eBuddy, so this could be the issue. U600 its not very versatile when it comes to applications.

Hi. I just bought a Blue Ant Z9i Bluetooth Headset, and my U600 cannot find the bluetooth device. ANy tips for trying to connect, or is this device incompatible with my phone? My phone is about a year old, and this is the first time I have tried to connect via Bluetooth. Thank you in advance.

Hi, i have a slight problem. when i get an sms the number starts like +9607774060 but when i recive a call its without the code, hence only 7774060. so far i’ve had to store the number both ways to keep a track of who is sendin an sms or calling. is there any other of doing it. Thanx in advance

i have one question, when in my pouch and phone rings by the time i got it out of the pouch it showed me missed call! was not doing it while out of the pouch. now i went into slider settings and changed when closed to continue operations. now it automatically answers it thus not giving me the option to decide weather i want to answer the call or not. is there any way to lock the keys completely? and then only if u press unlock to choose if to answer or reject the call? is thsi happening to anyone else? am i doing something wrong? any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

i no longer have this phone but when i had it my settings allowed me to answer by opening slide, and ending the call by closing the slide. I don’t remember what settings were these in the menu.

answering your question about “automatically answer the call”, try to do this:
go to settings >> phone settings >> extra settings >>
after that do not give a check list in “anykey answer” column.

yes! i got it! u wont believe it i just figured it out! it was the case! yes u read right the case! i guess the magnets were to strong! hehe. i changed the case and all is good. I LOVE MY NEW PHONE! just came back to samsung actually. i used to be a samsung man. i had the d407,d820,d900,u600,g600. and then someone introduced me to sony ericsson. well after 4 months and four different sony ericsssons k800i,k850i,s500i,and c702i, i can truky say sony ericssons are good phones, WHEN THEY WORK! unfortunately they most often do not work! so i came back to the love of my life
samsung. and the only one that spoke to me now was the u600.

Florin, I did select the phone main memory, After I enter all the contact info, I cannot see it on phone at all. When I check the Memory Status of Phone Book it comes out as empty.

I`m based on the Philippines and I have putted the all reset code on my u600 because I forgot my password on my files but the thing is after I reseted I can`t use my internet function again?? but my GPRS is already activated?? does it have a problem on the phone? or on my service provider? or do any Filipino here who know`s what to do on the browser settings? by the way I`m a SMART SIm user

David, I think you just need to get your settings from your provider. Usually they send you a message that install everything for browsing.

hey guys, i was wondering if you guys know what motherboard the u600 uses? I just sent mine to a repair centre and they told me that my motherboard was harmed. Since I bought the phone in singapore they said the guarantee is void in europe so i’m stuck with a bad motherboard! any suggestions?

I’ve used a bluetooth set for a while and i never had to deal with this problem, i mean, i only answered by pressing the button on the set. If such a function exist there must be a possibility to turn it off.
