ATMEGA32 Based Infrared and Ultrasonic Scanner

This project scans a 180 degree area from about 6 to 21 inches (15cm to 53cm) away and displays the information on a color LCD. To do this is uses. An infrared distance sensor from Sharp and an ultrasonic sensor from MaxBotix. This project is a short range, infrared and ultrasonic scanner that uses a standard hobby servo to move the sensors and a color LCD screen to display the information from the sensors. The information displayed on the LCD is an overhead view of the scanning area, with increments of distance from the sensors.

Here is a new version of the classic color organ, where different color lights are triggered by different frequencies of sound, resulting in a display that flashes along to music. In this case the newer type high intensity LEDs (3000 – 5000mcd) were used along with a very simple discrete transistor drive circuit. The design goals included small size and excellent portability, as well as long battery life.

Humidity Meter for Soils Takes Pictures Using A Computer Optical Mouse

I’m gonna start by saying the author of this project was very inventive by using this method. I never thought something like this is possible: by using a piece of paper the system detects the humidity by taking pictures before and after the humidification. The system is able to take 1500 photographs per second and analyze them. The whole system is based on dsPIC30F2012 a powerful microcontroller from Microchip.

Digital Subwoofer Amplifier with Electromotive Feedback Reduces Distortions

This innovative dsPIC30F2020-based project showcases an interesting approach for reducing speaker distortion and increasing bass response. A dual-coil speaker driver is implemented in the design, but only one of the coils is connected to the power amplifier. The other coil is used for electromotive feedback.

This is not a new idea, but many do not implement it due to the multitude of factors that have to be counted for the analog signal.

LED Bar Audio Spectrum Analyzer

Audio spectrum analyzers have always been cool either in Winamp on your computer, or in a sound system that features it. Now you have the option of building it and including it into your soundsystem. In fact i think it would look very professional if you place it inside a nice case.

The real-time system computes the distribution of the audio signal energy to 20 specific frequency bands and displays it on a 20 × 20 LED display. The PIC30F6012A was choose to control this circuit  because of its numerous functions needed in this project.
