Although its just a concept, i’m guessing that if this gadget hit’s the market it will be a success. Much of it success will depend on its price though, so if they manage to produce this keyboard at a reasonable price i will sure get one. Yes, its worth investing some money into a keyboard if you spend much time in from of one, because it will make your life better and easier.
The Optimus Tactus Keyboard has no physical keys, its just a display that can be configured the way you want it. For example you can have it display a color palette or you switch it to text mode and have your usual keys, or the coolest mode, you can switch it to video mode and display videos directly onto the keyboard. For the moment this is just a concept, not even a prototype so we cant expect it to be produced to soon, but who knows.
This could be useful for those of you who have an Xbox that you don’t use. The job is more easier to be done than to be explained. The Xbox controller already has USB connection, except it has a funky connector, so its just a matter of removing the original connector and soldering a standard USB connector. You can view the full tutorial on the link provided bellow.
With the CeBIT this week, Kingston wanted to attract people from around the world to come and see their latest products, so they released a video on youtube in which two of its HyperX DDR3 modules are overclocked to 2133 MHz. Without any extra cooling systems only backed up by the Nvidia nForce 790i motherboard the DDr3 memory is shown booting Windows at 2133 MHz. According to CPU-Z the memory’s timings were of 9-9-9-27 while the powered required for running at 2133 MHz was 2V.
If you hadn’t guessed from the headline, and as rumored just an hour ago, there’s 9-inches of LCD on this thing. Actually, 8.9, but who’s counting? We found out that and a few other little tidbits about this Eee PC “New Generation” at the ASUS booth just now, but for the most part the 9-inch Eee PC is quite similar to its 7-inch forebearer. Anything past that ASUS is saving for tomorrow’s press event when this laptop will become officially official, but whatever they end up calling it (Eee PC 900 is rumored), it’s certainly for real. The battery impact of the new display is said to be “negligible,” with 2.5 to 3 hours of battery quoted. ASUS wouldn’t let us turn it on since it’s all so very secret at the moment, but they did confirm some release details. The 9-inch Eee will hit in the “middle” of 2008, with that €399 pricetag for the 12GB version, but other capacities available (we saw an 8GB on display). No word yet on US pricing, but we’re trying to pry it out of them.
Fabless semiconductor company MetaRAM launched a new memory technology, called DDR2 MetaSDRAM that promises to double or quadruple memory capacity while maintaining compatibility with existing DIMMs.
MetaRAM achieves this feat by using 3D chip stacking methods to fit more capacity into a single memory chip. Such a method alone would have caused issues with compatibility, but MetaRAM developed a custom chipset that sits between the chips that makes the multiple DRAMs look like a larger capacity DRAM to the memory controller.
Also designed to maintain compatibility with existing systems is MetaRAM’s WakeOnUse power management technology. WakeOnUse, as the name implies, enables MetaSDRAM to remain in a sleep state until needed, allowing the memory to fit within current constraints. The company claims that its advancement has accelerated memory technology development by two to four years.
Without any system modifications, MetaRAM says that its memory technology will work with current AMD and Intel server and workstations.
