This topic will help you discover what is the Audio Spectrum Analyzer and how you can order one. The Audio Spectrum Analyzer was designed to enhance the visual effect of any audio player or entertainment system by actively analyzing the played audio spectrum and displaying the result on a 20x20 LED display matrix. Currently it does not come with an enclosure but one made from acrylic will be available if more customers are interested.
The spectrum analyzer is composed of 2 boards, the motherboard and the display board. The two can be connected together back to back or by cable. The "by cable" connection method allows you to separate the motherboard from the display board and mount it in a different position. If you would like to get your spectrum analyzer with a "by cable" option you have to add to your cart the 50 pin IDC cable which will connect the two boards. When the cable is added to an order it also means the kit will be configured to work with that connection method and only that.
The spectrum analyzer can be ordered with a variety of colors for the LED matrix: Green(GWA), RED(EWA), SuperRed(SRWA), half green-red(GWA/EWA), half blue-red (EWA/BLUE) and Blue though not all are always available for immediate shipping. Blue for example due to its higher price is not stocked and will only be acquired and assembled after you place your order. This means about 3-4 weeks waiting time until we receive the blue LED's and assemble your kit. Different colors are priced differently and the extra price will be added to your order when you select the desired color.

For operating the spectrum analyzer you need to supply it with signal and power. The spectrum analyzer features a 3.5mm stereo input jack and for that we offer a 3.5 mm stereo jack cable and a 3.5mm splitter. As for the power the spectrum analyzer works with 7-15VDC 1A and for that we offer a good quality 7.5V DC Power Adapter. We strongly recommend you get the power adapter from our shop because it is high quality SMPS type which ensures the output voltage is constant. If you decide to use your own power supply you risk damaging your unit. For example older model of power adapters (transformer type) often output 2-5 times their rated voltage for the first miliseconds. That is enough to damage the spectrum analyzer and this kind of damage caused by low quality power adapters is not covered by the warranty.
For those who want to connect the spectrum analyzer inside a car it is possible for a 12V battery but its mandatory to install protection. For that we offer a a standard 19mm bladefuse holder with two 1A 32V rated fuses included.
