I looked in my email archive and I found the emails we originally exchanged. It seems that there is no mention of you requesting an unassembled kit except after you received the motherboard and posted on the forum. For your next order please specify that you want the 50 pin connector on a specific side or unsoldered.

My first post in this topic says I wanted it unassembled, and then you took the business end of the conversation to e-mail. Now you can go back to see if I edited that or not...which I didn't.

Ok I realize now that you are right. You specified in the forum that you want it unassembled but I forgot to take that into account when preparing your order(partially also because unassembled was not really available). What I can do is offer you a motherboard free of charge(you just pay the shipping) once a new batch is built. However it will not be unassembled but I can make sure that the 50 pin connector stays unsoldered.

Is that acceptable ?

Sorry for the trouble.

That sounds good, thanks!

EDIT: I kind of trust you more in assembling these kits than I trust myself, anyway. I loathe SMD stuff after doing the 400 LEDs with paste, which still aren't perfect! I wish I would have just glued them instead and then soldered.

Oh, Right! A motherboard without the 50 pin connector.
I will send you a paypal invoice for the shipping cost and I will send you a free motherboard.

Thanks :) Now I have to find a tiny DAC kit that can do 24 bit 192 khz that can also be powered from a computer PSU. I found out my sound card should output what I am playing digitally while playing through the line-out.

The Burr-Brown PCM1796 from TI can do 24bit at 192Khz. There are also kits produced with a cheaper AKM dac that can do 24bit at 192Khz. I guess it depends on how much you're willing to spend on it.
