Hi Florin
You have created a fantastic product with the spectrum analyzer and full credit goes to you for it. I'm not sure if you have already had the request but i'm in the process of building a spectrum analyzer for the front of a DJ box that will go for hire as i'm in the process of starting up a very small events company.
The DJ box will be similar to
http://www.djdeckstands.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=69_97&products_id=306 and will have around 20 tubes along the front
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbSGes-xvCk or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H36x9a5ZSZs. The tubes i am looking at purchasing are the JB Systems LED Pipe
http://www.terralec.co.uk/led_display_products_/ledpipe_rgb_bar/24708_p.htmlas they have a built in power supply once daisy chained and a built in VU meter, although i'm led to believe this mode will only fire down the length of the one tube, continuing to the next when that tube is full of light. The optional controller does state different modes for the meter but i'm suspecting i wouldn't get the desired result from it
http://www.terralec.co.uk/led_display_products_/controller_for_ledpipe_rgb/24709_p.html. I'm not sure if the controller will carry out the function i want but i was just wondering if it wasn't able to carry out the function with the controller, how could the analyzer you created be adapted?
What i'd like is for each channel to be independant like your analyzer. I know that the LED Pipe units respond to DMX signals so how could your analyzer be adapted to have twenty XLR sockets outputting to each tube just like your analyzer? I have found many people who have managed to get this effect from MADRIX to control the tubes but that is far too expensive for what i need and also involves a laptop.
The LED Pipes have 144 LED's inside meaning a better resolution from the display (48 red, 48 green, 48 blue) and they are all colour switched via DMX values.
Sorry if it's a little off-topic but you have created the best specrtum analyzer i have saw yet that meets my needs. Just for the record the original goal was to re-create this but it costs just under £3000 for the LED system alone!
