February 26th, 2008 Scrolling text display generated on 50×7 LED matrix with AVR AT 90S2313
Now this is a project to pay attention to. I dont know about you but i’ve always been a fan of scrolling text displays. This is cool. You can use it on pc casing moding, or anywhere else where you might want to add this nice effect. The text can be sent via RS232 interface from a computer, or it can be saved on a EEPROM memory. Fonts set of 256 different characters can also be programmed and mast be written to EEPROM before sending text to display. The author provides you with full info on building the project and also on the firmware.

i cannot write the font and the text in eeprom.
May 26th, 2008 at 11:19 pm
Claudiu you’re gonna have to be more specific than that.
May 27th, 2008 at 9:46 am
Florin, do you have a email address, where we can talk “more specific”?
May 27th, 2008 at 4:57 pm

I`m starting the program (leddisp.exe), then I`m opening the font (basic.ldf) and then when I click on the “Write font” button, it`s appearing the “Writing font” window and nothing it`s happening!

Claudiu, I’m sorry but i don’t know what is wrong on your setup. I will build the project soon so i will publish it on my personal projects page.
If you’d like to ask for help on AVR’s check the AVRfreaks forum.

By mistake I have wired the RxD of MAX232 to TxD of ATEML and TxD of MAX to RxD of ATMEL. Now it`s working verry good. I like it so much.

Hey Claudiu, thats cool, maybe you can take some pictures of it so we can post them here on the site.
June 3rd, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Of course. But only in a few days, because I`m very busy right now.

I cann’t “comunicate” with the display with it’s DB9. Maybe Claudiu colud help me.
PS: are you from Romania???
