Were starting to see more and more green designs, which is nice, some people are really concerned about the planet we live in. The PowerBox is part of the Cornell University student projects 2008, and its main goal is to calculate and report the following parameters:
- Real power
- Apparent power
- Power factor
- RMS Voltage
- RMS Current
- Energy usage (Kilowatt-Hours)
All of the data is gathered by a C application which shows real time graphs and data display. Another feature of the PowerBox is that it features a remote switch that allows the computer to turn the power on or off and set wattage limits for auto shutdown. This way people can monitor and control their energy usage. Good job Cornell students.

As green becomes more and more a trend and a necessity new gadgets start to apear. For example this Eject Powercord allows you to push with your feet on a small pedal and the plug will pop-out of the powercord, thus saving power. Because yes, electronics devices consume power even if left in standby, that’s not much, but it ad’s up. For the moment the Eject Powercord is just a concept, but i think it will catch the public real fast if it goes into production.

I got these pictures from a chineese website. They say that these pictures represent screenshots from google os which i find kind of hard to believe. First of all Google is a big company and i think they don’t alow information leeks like this one. If they want to show us pictures or screenshots of the Google OS i am sure we will be hearing this from them, and not from some chinese website. And second, the pictures don’t look good at all, i dont think that Google will make such a bad looking OS. I am sure Google OS will look better than this, and i cant wait for it to be released. Here is the gOS screenshots below, tell me what you think about them
If you would like to see more gOS screenshots you should check the gOS screenshot’s article.
