This is a very small telephone exchange system with two ordinary telephones attached. Full bi-directional facility with an intercom system: when a phone is in off hook condition , the circuit will detect it & send ringing pulse to the other phone. When it will be picked up , the connection will be established between both phones. This will take place vice-versa also. This project sounds great if you need a simple and efficient communication system, like in a tree house, you place on telephone in the tree house and the other one in your house. This is just an example but there are far more applications for this system.

The Open GPS Tracker is a small device which plugs into a $20 prepaid mobile phone to make a GPS tracker. The Tracker responds to text message commands, detects motion, and sends you its exact position, ready for Google Maps or your mapping software. The Tracker firmware is open source and user-customizable. This looks like a great project if you’re into GPS projects.

The need for security systems is growing every day. These days every institution has an alarm system, and people houses are beginning to catch up. One of the features included in most security systems is the sms notification, which the author thinks is not as reliable as Ethernet Notification system because GSM networks can have a congestion at the time the alarm.
Well i disagree with the author, and i think the SMS notification is much more reliable than Ethernet, in fact from my experience Ethernet Networks tend to fail more often that GSM networks. So if you’re thinking of building a security system, i would suggest a SMS notification system instead of an ethernet one, in my opinion sms is more reliable.

Have you ever been into a boring elevator ? with no sound and level indicator lights ? because I’ve been and i can tell you its not a pleasant environment to be in. Those elevators are sometime rebuild or renewed but the level indicator lights and some kind of sound system are not installed because of the high price tag, and possible need of rewiring. This project comes with a solution, and an easy to implement one.
It features a voice message system which inform you about the current level and optional about the next level. It needs no connection to the elevators system, its powered by batteries so you just need to stick it somewhere inside the elevator. If i would to build this system i would also include an FM radio, because most modern elevators include this features and i think its neat.
